Queenstown is located in the South Island of New Zealand. I have heard amazing things about the South Island but I was not sure what to expect. My first glimpse of it came from the plane window. The tops of mountains peeped out from under the clouds and our plane flew right through them! It was incredible.
I landed and took a cab to the center of town. Our cab driver was so nice that he brought us to a lookout over Lake Wakatipu with the mountains all around us. It was such a great way to start the trip! Once in town I was shocked by how cute it was. The natural beauty all around was the perfect backdrop to a small town with quaint little shops. The lake in the middle is so clear it is practically a swimming pool. Compare that to our harbor...

It was finally time to check into the house that I rented along with 9 other Loyola students. This place is jaw-dropping. It has the most amazing view of the Remarkables (the mountain range) and the lake. It sits high up on a mountain and is decorated so nicely! This is the view from the front. Feeling like a queen in Queenstown!
