The next day, the three of us drove to Devonport, a peninsula off of Auckland. It was ANZAC Day which is basically New Zealand's memorial day. Devonport is known for their WWI bunkers and hidden gun. It was so special to visit these on such an important day. We climbed up the hill to where the memorabilia is. Aside from the interesting facts about New Zealand's involvement in the war, the view from the hill was amazing!

Having mom and dad here was great. First, because I missed them. And second, because they fed me. They took me to all the restaurants I've had my eye on, including the Sky Tower. This building is iconic in Auckland. It is by far the tallest building and at the top, there is a rotating restaurant. It turns 360 degrees every hour, giving the diners amazing views of the city. It was on my bucket list to go here so I was very excited.
When I know I'm going out to dinner, I want to make sure that I'm hungry. This becomes a problem sometimes because there is a fine line between hungry and hangry (hungry+angry). Mom and I were starving by the time we were seated and that combined with the rotation was not a great combo. We ordered bread for the table asap and things went up from there. Good food, better company.
